Having issues with Skype v7.8.0.102?
No matter what I do I cannot log in/sign in although I keep entering the correct information, email address and password.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, after rebooting,a number of times but with the same results, not signing in.

Googled and saw there are many complaints about the same problems.

A suggestion was to delete the XML file which I did.

Restarted the PC but Skype still giving me headache.

Tried previous version but that too was giving same problem.

I did contact Microsoft but with all their suggestions/codes etc they sent via email,it was a waste of time.

Any suggestions from fellow nsaners to fix this would be appreciated.

Close Your Skype (from taskbar) and visit this site

https://login.skype.com/login?message=signin_continue&client_id=360605&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fsecure.skype.com%2Fportal%2Flogin%3Freturn_url%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fsecure.skype.com%252Fportal%252Foverview

There are all recommendations.

And yet - you can log on with Skype account, with a Microsoft account and with Facebook account - do you really have forgot all three?

There are some cases Skype can block your Skype ID ------- Depends on the circumstances sometimes they release your Skype ID But sometimes they permanently block you ---- or sometimes they block your ID for security reason if they suspend someone using your log in to order to protect you.

They used to have live support team interracially but they stop this services ---> only option send them mail wait their answer.

You need to login first.

@Kalju,thanks for the suggestion but tried this before with the same results, cannot log in/sign in.

@november_rain why would they block one's ID if you have been using their product for years and never given them any reason to block you.

This has only been happening very recently.

I did contact them and they emailed me "new" code etc but I still have the same problems.

Sorry I am only answering you now but the nsane website has been down until a few minutes ago

@Roy W .........We have not touched base for ages since the days of your Quickbooks enquiry many moons ago.

Rather than going round a perpetual loop that gets you nowhere ….To narrow down where your issue is coming from I would suggest trying to logon through the Skype web portal with your correct credentials from another machine. If that is not possible, the culprit probably is at Skype’s end.

If you can login in then the issue is with your PC most likely due to corrupted settings or a firewall / host block/ security policy rule that has been put in place unknowingly denying Skype access to the required IP’s.

Best regards

Mike

I was having a similar problem once. I do not remember correctly, but I believe the problem was due to Peerblock, I closed it and was able to login to Skype just fine.

So yeah, in addition to above, check Peerblock, your firewall, your AV, your hosts file and any other software preventing it from connecting.
