Ballistic Gelatin
Can anyone recommend a good boot analyzer? In the last few days, something is causing a delay of ~15 minutes before my system reaches Desktop. I've removed/delayed some items from Startup, but the issue persists, I really don't want spend time going through System Configuration boot routines (Safe Boot, No GUI Boot, etc.) to identify the culprit(s).In the past, I have used Microsoft Bootvis (from my XP days), but I'm sure there is a much better tool available now. Thanks for any suggestions. Kalju
First of all - are You sure, that all Your system files correct and not damaged?if so, then for the next - restore all default settings for os, for every program, etcif then nothing changes, You cannot get any help from any kind of boot analyzer.Just, Your system is damaged. But, first of all - what's Your system? Seems, not XP, but what it is?

C.G.B. Spender
I solved the same problem by methods described in link below (in my case it was corrupted AV installation, after uninstall/reinstall boot is swift again, but I would never found out the reason without this tutorial)https://helgeklein.com/blog/2013/07/analyzing-a-slow-boot-with-windows-performance-recorder-analyzer/

Seems, not XP, but what it is?Yes, I have run System File Checker several times as well as Windows Repair AIO v3.4.2 on my Windows 7 Pro system.I was able to perform a System Restore to a previously working system configuration and also booted to "Last Known Good Configuration" a couple of times. My system is now working very well once I reach the Desktop. But getting to the Desktop takes far too long; hence, my request for a boot analyzer. (This was all prompted by the apparent failure of my DVD-RAM drive, which is integrated into my Lenovo X230T docking station. But I've since determined that the drive's problem is likely hardware-related.)
Ballistic Gelatin
try Soluto...! It's for Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 7 64 bit / 8http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Soluto.shtmlI tried Soluto when it first came out years ago on my Windows XP system. But at the time, Soluto wasn't quite ready for 'prime time' and I abandoned its use. But I will give it a second look now that I'm using Windows 7. Ballistic Gelatin
Slow-boot issue has been resolved. The culprit was one or more settings in the "Speed up my computer" module of jv16 PowerTools 2014. It was possibly the setting that moved the Windows kernel to RAM. This is the first time I've ever had trouble with jv16 PT.The settings may have conflicted with some of the repairs previously performed by Tweaking.com's Windows Repair AIO v3.2.4. Thanks to everyone who responded. The lesson here is that you need to be careful when using more than one "tweaking" tool and document all changes made by them. Maxhedroom
Totally agree...I no longer use any of the 1 click 'optimization' apps after a run around with TuneUp and ASO. I do manual tweaks with Windows 7 Manager and a few others.
straycat19
I have relied on JV16 since it was first released as a small freeware tweaker for windows. I bought several VIP licenses to use on all my systems. But like any software made for general use, some things may not work on some computers. So I test it a step at a time and if it doesn't work, I can undo it. No harm, no foul. If you use more than one tweaker on your system you are asking for trouble and some tweakers are just junk, such as PC TuneUp Utilities which was the subject of a class action lawsuit and resulted in a full refund. Choose your favorite tweaker and stick with it.
