How to stop Windows Store, Settings and Calculator from start themselves?

Hello!
I need to know if there is a way to stop Windows Store, Settings and Calculator from autorun after few idle minutes.

If I leave my computer for a few minutes (approx. 10 minutes), the three programs start themselves.

It's about Windows 10.

can u block with firewall ?

If I block them with Firewall, they will still try to run. As an example, if I block Windows Store, the wizard still appear, telling me something like... ”could not connect to server.... we all have bad days...”

I just checked an option in Startisback to terminate Metro apps after closing. P.S. nothing to do with firewalls.

@ steven36 It`s just about matter that some Metro/Store apps including Store itself may still be running after you close them. Replacing calculator with an alternative is not a full solution, this requires some tweak in one`s system.

if u are smart u can block it in

C:\Windows\System32

its not hard to stop things like this but as sternog is so smart may be he can help :tooth:

I already posted how I solved the problem on my system. If you don`t know other ways of solving problems with apps other than firewalling them all, you could just quit advising.

Its not in my process manger after i run it the new one but ilike old one better. Heres how remove it

You will need to find PowerShell. Go to start and type PowerShell. You need administrator rights, so right click on it and choose Run as administrator.

Get-AppxPackage *windowscalculator* | Remove-AppxPackage

the picture he posted is of the windows cac in windows 10 i told how to remove it and he can use the old one if hes dont want the new one .

I know, just in case he doesn`t need this Store stuff, he could remove it alltogether or migrate to LTSB. Destroy Windows 10 Spying (DWS) allows to remove Store stuff.

I used DWS. The result was that Windows Store could not connect to server, but the wizard still appeared.

Also, I don't care if Calculator will be the new, or an older version(from Windows 7->8.1).

The main problem is with Settings app which autostart after few idle minutes.

I just want Settings app to start manual, not automatic after idle time.

Note:

I already found on Google articles like steven36 posted, but, there is about how to uninstall / restore an application, not how to change the way of starting (autostart /manual).

All I want is to change from autostart to manual start for Windows Store, Settings and Calculator.

Uninstall the one for windows 10 and install the one for windows 7/8 then it will be in win system 32 instead problem solved :lol:

I dont think you understand its hard to stop something that's not in autoruns I can run autoruns from Microsoft theres no windows apps that are listed . There sandboxed away from the real computer. the best advice I can give you is dont use or get rid of what store apps you dont need and replace them with real ones.

I would not remove i just have it blocked . and if you ever problems with a windows upgrade like a new build of windows 10 comes out that has new apps just reinstall you're apps and then update too to make sure you get no error and then remove what you dont want .Its best to only uninstall them with power shell or by hand if it let you because i uninstall some before with IObitUninstaller and I had trouble upgrading to windows 8.1 trough the store .

The most curious thing is that I don't think I'm the only user of Windows 10, which has this problem. Yet neither here nor on Google, no one has raised this issue. Will I be the only one that bothers him three programs that start themselves?

The store always loaded in the background for me I'm glad you brought it to my attention because I just removed all the apps that could be removed myself before i use just uninstall the ones it would let me by hand . Now I used the power shell and got rid of them all . I never used anything from the store and I been on windows 8.1 for like 2 years so It sure was no need for it now running extra process on windows 10 . For me its not a matter privacy though because I always firewall my system heavily . ;)

Yes, they appear on the screen(desktop) after few minutes of inactivity (aprox. 10 minutes idle). That is annoying.

It means that your default settings have modified. I highly doubt that you can find the cause and can reset them.

Maybe if You only have full registry backup, if everything still worked.
This is not a typical problem, it is a problem with your pc.

However, I think that the wisest action is new and clean installation - NB Do not store any settings.

Otherwise, you're wasting a lot of time but still end up must do the same.
