vitorio
I had 1 tera byre Seagate external disk with no partitions. After clone my HD, 320 gb, with 3 partitions I decide that no longer need the clone disk but a disk copy of it.Since the disk have partitions when I try to run Acronis 2014 disk copy option, after a while, I got this message:The last backup has been cancelled by time out.I googled this message and it says that it shows when the disk is full.My question:How I can format the disk (windows format NTFS) to get only 1 tera again for the disk with no partitions.Yes, I googled for this procedure but not sure how to do it.Thanks for the help. AlexCross
I didn't really understand all the details but, if you want to format a HDD:open cmd.type diskpartin the new cmd that just opened type list disk , it will list all your connected disks and memorize the disk that you want to format (0,1,2,3,4 etc)now type select disk x (where x is the number of your HDD from the previous step).now type cleannow type format=ntfs quickYour HDD will be formatted now.For future steps type:create partition primarythen type activethen type select partition 1then type assign
eXentios
If you're familiar with Administrative Tools, go to Computer Management ==> Disk Management and select the drive you want (the external HDD), then delete the existing partitions (3), after that, create a partition with the full capacity of the drive and format it, it's very simple.Or optionaly use a utility to do it, for example "EaseUS Partition Master" ( http://www.partition-tool.com/) they have a free version here: download.easeus.com/free/epm.exe Hope this will help you.Cheers
