StartIsBack Windows 10 Users

On Windows 10 Pro with some issues. I cannot access settings-I get "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action" explorer.exe error. The Windows 10 cumulative patch was supposed to fix this. I ran "sfc /scannow" thinking that would fix the issue, but after rebooting, I got a flashing blank screen. I was able to fix with a restore point. I tried all the same things in safe mode; same thing. In fact, I forgot to untick safe mode after rebooting. Only way to fix that was to remove CMOS. Ugh.

Then I had a thought-what if StartIsBack was the culprit. I disabled it and sure enough, I was able to access settings. I wonder if anyone else has this issue. If so, I'll have to go to the StartIsBack++ forums for resolution. Maybe I should have waited a few months for Microsoft to fix this OS........

I was referring to the OS in general. There are still many bugs, too numerous to mention here. I currently have the latest version of StartIsBack++ and was wondering if anyone else using SIB was having similar issues.

Open control panel > folder options > file types > new (button) in the new window click advanced. In the file extension dialog box type exe. In the drop down menu locate and select application > click OK. The link below is to an image for reference.

Issue solved. When I got home just now, voila-installed new version 1.02, and now "settings" opens. It was a SIB issue.
