Here is how.

Windows Photo Viewer comes back in Windows 10
-----------------------------------------------

Go to the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Photo Viewer\Capabilities\FileAssociations
Create 9 new string values:

".tif"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".tiff"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".bmp"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".dib"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".gif"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jfif"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jpe"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jpeg"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jpg"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jxr"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".png"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"

How to do:
1. Right click on empty area and select => New > String Value
make 9 new values
then rename them >
.tif
.tiff
.bmp
.dib
.gif
.jfif
.jpe
.jpeg
.jpg
.jxr
.png

2. Now double right click on red icon and set Value Data: > PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff
(for all)

Or use this reg file. Now open Settings > Default Apps and double click on Photo Viewer > set default  Windows Photo Viewer
Or open Pictures folder and right click on some picture and then Proparties > select default program. And so for all types,
of photos, what You want to open with Windows Photo Viewer.

Everything is done.

or use attached reg files - one gives You back the Windows Photo Viewer, the second restores default settings, if You don't like Windows Photo Viewer no more.

(You can use also Winaero Tweaker 0.3.1 - it helps. also.)

I am aware of how to use the Spoiler, Attach Files etc.,

as I have used these in the past.

However, I find dishonest to present info

-found on articles by other people-

to be mine.

Therefore, I have systematically avoid Copying & Pasting entire articles.

Besides, the entire info is one click away.

Frankly, I do not understand what's the issue...

Look, if you compare the Dates, my reg file has been made on the 2th of August 2015, 22: 24.35

but your article is published on Dec 8th, 2015 - what was before and what later?

And I also wrote about it already here on the 03th of Aug - http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/249478-some-windows-10-shortcuts-constantly-updated/?p=961839

So - I recommend not to disseminate slander.

All I had to do was click on a Photo eg. *.jpg and it popped up.

I see that is not what you are talking about. Sorry.
