Big rodent breaks out at National Zoo :wtf:
In this summer of high-profile prison breaks in New York and Mexico, Washington has had an unusual escape of its own: an animal fled this week from its enclosure at the National Zoo.
An agouti — a type of rodent about the size of a house cat and native to Central and South America — took unauthorized leave from his pen for about 30 minutes Monday, the zoo said.
Zoo officials said they think the agouti, named Macadamia, made his break for freedom. about 7 p.m., when the zoo’s buildings are closed but the grounds are still open. Apparently nobody saw him leave the pen.
But the circumstantial evidence was strong. Macadamia was outside his enclosure. The steel mesh that was supposed to keep him inside had a hole in it. Zoo officials reasoned that he must have chewed his way out.
The zoo said he is back in custody, and the hole has been patched with sturdier stuff.

All they had to do to find this 'rodent' was look in the White House. It's been living there and 'working' in the Oval Office since 2009.
