I use the same PDVD15 as you do,but I can play ALL the MKV-files on; WMP12, MPC, Win.Med.Centre and PDVD15 !

Not only MKV but really every filetype there is, do you use good decoder-software ?

Im using MediaPlayerCodec-Pack 4.3.8 ( latest), works awsome. On a Win7x64-OS.

You can also try to uninstall your PDVD15 and reinstall the prog again, remove 100% first(!) ,clean regedit, reboot, and reinstall !

I suggest you do this first, only when you can play MKV on other players but not with PDVD15 .

If it does not help, then install Codec-pack 4.3.8 its here; http://www.mediaplayercodecpack.com/

Good luck bro !

I did as your menthod but still no result! Media player codec pack only work with WMP 12 not on PowerDVD!

what kind of activation method do you use ?

I used latest Repacks version of qazwsxe!

I dont use this repack, only original set-up from CyberLink , maybe this repack does not support MKV ?

There must be something wrong with your system, coz I can play every file !

What codec-pack did you install ,standard or plus-pack ?

Im using plus-pack,did you uninstall the previous codecs before installing the new one ??

IOP, i dont really recommend using repacks.

You may want to try this procedure.

1. Uninstall old powerDVD using windows installer.

2. To check and clean leftover files and registry. Look for any powerdvd references and use a revo uninstaller or uninstaller software equivalent.

- C:\ProgramData\CyberLink\Boomerang\PowerDVD

- C:\ProgramData\CyberLink\CBE\PowerDVD.....(references)

- C:\ProgramData\CyberLink\CLMP\PowerDVD

-C:\ProgramData\Cyberlink\PowerDVD

-C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDVD15

-C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Cyberlink\PowerDVD15

-C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Cyberlink\PowerDVD

- check registry entries in hklm and hkcu for powerdvd and delete it..

3. After cleaning it, check by opening mkv filesusing any default player. Mine, i used home media player. if mkv files cannot be played. Then you need to install a codec pack... i used k-lite codec pack. Be wary if you have other other cyberlink products especially mediaespresso installed as it uses DivX codec . Check for configuration conflicts between divx codec and other codecs.

4. Once mkv file can be played already with other default players, Install powerdvd ... please search for the installer here. there is direct installer here in the forum.

5. Use keygen by core to activate the program, follow procedure properly( must read here in the forum). Try using the old ultra version build ( 1st version, not the 18xx build ) then once activated . Restart PC if you wish, open powerDVD and in videos, import videos - mkv .

6. You may want to update and download the patch 18xx later if you wish to.,.. well its up to you.

Hope this helps you out.....
