The V2.2.1 is a gaping security hole. RL8WwPy.gif

Why?

Been using it for years now..

Besides, the security issue - it also lacks the feature to prevent ISPs from throttling upload/download speeds.

Another workaround blocking all Utorrent add by host file editing:

127.0.0.1 cdn.bitmedianetwork.com
127.0.0.1 ads.bittorrent.com
127.0.0.1 apps.bittorrent.com
127.0.0.1 bundles.bittorrent.com
127.0.0.1 cdn.ap.bittorrent.com
127.0.0.1 offers.bittorrent.com
127.0.0.1 bench.utorrent.com
127.0.0.1 utclient.utorrent.com

I have been tested this last 6 mounts for every new version there have no add appeared so far so good. This has been posted by CODYQX4 but cant find the topic reply right now.

===================================================================

For installation --- I only use portable edition from portablewares >>>

No need to installed therefore no third party software's beside that portable without any add itself no need to add host file .. And more:

Auto-updates
Random pop-ups of the installation guide
improved support for both Beta / Stable.
improved overall reliability

Just tested Deluge - found it too basic for my tastes (no value-additions since the last time I tried it out.)

After discarding Deluge - trying out qBittorrent, now.

You could try Tixati. It's good. And FREE. No junkware, or ads.

Oh yeah, Tixati is next on the list - qBittorrent, is taking up a little more of the test time due to its likeness to µTorrent. ^_^

Please elaborate.

I actually switched to Vuze, though they aren't exactly trustworthy, they haven't tried to install Bitcoin Miners on anyone's PC yet. There was a way to disable the one ad part, without Plus.

More and more I find the idea of using seedboxes and torrenting services and downloading via VPN more attractive. The clients these days are the choice of ads/malware, or atrocious UIs and/or less features.
