A couple of weeks ago, I deleted all the Firewall rules in my WFC and began from the blank rule-sheet.

Now, have only 12-15 rules in total in my WFC :showoff:

The GUI is set to 'not start at Windows Startup', saving the WFC GUI background process. What this also does is block all request that do not match the rule automatically, hence I do not need to create block rules specially. Thanx to you for this :notworthy:

I only enable the GUI now, if and when I install something, otherwise it does one hell of a job without me knowing it's even there.

Also maybe because, I don't have any rules pertaining to the program WFC itself, maybe thats why my activation is still retained while others in this thread are complaining of activation failure upon upgrading.

Hello Taker...

If you have some time, could you explain that a little bit more? I use this software 3-4 years now and I'd like to hear your way of working with it...

TIA

Theodore

P.S I'm sorry, I deleted quotation somehow...

WFC activated by WFC - boom! q5rE0gy.gif

It does not seem WFC checks online the activation serial like IDM, does it?

It does call home if the "Automatic check for updates" is enabled. ;)

So by switching that option off or blocking WFC by rule "WFC - Windows Firewall Control Updater", no calling home is made. But still in different updates the algorithm of activation serial is changed unlike IDM.

WFC - Windows Firewall Control not work on checking serial just used some scheme for you hardware part and combine and make Install ID then need Activation ID this is same scheme who is on server on binisoft just offline not hard for detection... If you donate on binisoft then you have account and you can activate all pc who have home or work...

Just update offline when release new version install over not use auto updates.

For functional purposes, IDM requires internet access - WFC does not . . . . . . . . . besides, Tonec have made no provision in IDM for the User to be able to enable (or more importantly - to disable) "Automatic check for updates."
