Restore Default Folder Attributes--Windows 7

I tried searching for an answer online, but it seemed like no one had the answer I was looking for. All of my folders are unhidden and I don't know why. When I go to the folder options, it says not to show hidden folders; when I check the properties of one of the folders, it is set as a read-only file and the hidden button is greyed out. Again, I don't know how this happened--my assumption is it happened while I was trying to fix my HDD/Repair my OS--but I need to know if there is a quicker way to fix the issue and reset the folders that are hidden by default back to being hidden.

No. Here's what my options look like after click Restore Defaults:

And here is what my C drive looks like:

I would think that the recycling bin would be hidden, but it's not. It's like it's not listening to what I tell it to do.

In your first picture just click on RESET FOLDERS and Reboot that should be all you need to do.

unknownasphyxiated

i don't think "Reset Folders" will solve the problem

it's just reset the folder view settings back to default, not folder's attribute

Ignore it or go to previous restore point before the problem happened

manual fix > compare with working pc and manually apply the attribute

Also found this tool in Win7 Manager. Have not tried this so you should create a restore point before running this

Sorry, having problems posting image

Win7 repair center and then click Misc Repair to restore file attributes
