[SOLVED]Cannot Install Sims 4

I'm trying to install Sims 4 repack by Mr DJ, but I keep getting the same error message:

error-unpacking-uanrc-dll-code-1.png

I've tried looking online for a fix, but most of them just want me to download the dll file and place it in the System32 folder--which did not work. Anyone have any thoughts?

Are you using the latest WinRAR version?

Yes

Your file download is corrupted, redownload

I tried to redownload the torrent but got the same error.

I think my problem is with my operating system. I tried to run sfc scan but it said there are files that can't be repaired.

Try 7zip ( but as mentionend try above advises )

Another story is when the file or package left home broken ! so the upper must reupload it.

in an elevated command prompt run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

then run sfc/scannow again to repair your system files

As already stated, the download is corrupt.

in an elevated command prompt run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

then run sfc/scannow again to repair your system files

Don't do this, it's pointless and more than likely cause you more issues (if you've patched theme files for example.)

Did you try the entire procedure with your security system disabled?

I did not but ESET didn't give me any error messages.

Open the file and find the TEST menu on the winrar menu..

This will tell you if your file is corrupted or not....

If it is corrupted you have to redownload the corrupted archive (assuming it is a multispan set)

I think there is a problem with my HDD. I ran Windows AIO repair and it said that chkdsk is needed. Also I can't get IE11 to install after I did an inplace upgrade.

do chkdsk /f /r if there are bad sectors get new hdd, if it goes ok install windows but get ISO from microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

you should also check ram with windows memory diagnostic tool to be sure it's hdd, bad ram can lead to CRC errors too

I'm using Windows 7.

I downloaded the repack from another site, disabled my AV, and ran the installer as an admin. Installed successfully! Thanks!

BTW, it is not good computing practices to use repacks - they most usually than not, are known to contain arbitrary code/s.

I only downloaded the repack because every time I would get the error message when I was trying to install the update separately, it would erase the based game I had installed.
