Google Chrome 42.0.2311.90

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. Google Chrome also uses a brand new javascript engine (V8), which is much faster than existing javascript interpreters. This means you can create more complex and more intensive AJAX applications with fewer speed and processing constraints. Finally, Google Chrome is built on top of Blink (WebKit fork), so Google Chrome users will benefit from the CSS3 features being added to Blink (WebKit fork) as those features are released.

Thanks to Matsuda for the update.

Chrome 42 has now arrived on the scene. The trans-platform update applies to Mac, Windows and Linux browsers and can be accessed via Chrome’s download page.

The Chrome Blog announcing the update cites major improvements for the new version including new apps, extension, and Web Platform APIs, including the Push API.

As reported by VentureBeat, these let sites push notifications to users even after they close the page — but only with specific permission.

With such permission, developers can use Google Cloud Messaging to contact a service worker (a script run by the browser in the background, separate from a Web page) to implement the notifications.

In this release, notifications must be visible to users and each one includes a Site Settings button, allowing users to disable them for particular sites.

In addition, the Chrome team has improved the browser’s stability and performance with 45 security fixes, including those contributed by outside users.

Hello all,

I have the latest google chrome installed

I have installed the latest Java 8 Update 45 and now when trying to verify java it shows that the plugin is not supported.

Did anything changed in google chrome or in Java?

Thanks

Edit: Solved by enabling NPAPI

They change the bookmark page format. Is there a way to show the old list format? I dont like the new list either. Anything I can tweak anywhere?

Yep, you need only to disable this flag

chrome://flags/#enhanced-bookmarks-experiment

and restart chrome ^^

Does anyone know why Shockwave has stopped working for me in Chrome v44.0.2369.0?

Does your shockwave work? Test your Shockwave here.

Check if it is allowed (enabled). And another thing, see if it is not in the list twice, and twice allowed. If so, then you need one to refuse (disable one, if nothing don't happen, enable it and diable another one). Try what works. If, however, will not work at all, then I'm going to look into the matter. I must install it before I can begin to test.

Go to chrome://plugins (write in url area and click Enter) and then the top right corner You can open all fields.

Testing is for now done. I used Google Chrome 44.0.2369.0 (64-bit) - everything works as it should. Thus You must look for a problem on your computer. Browser is running well.
