Windows 8.1 Boot issues

Hello nsane. I have a rather weird issue. After every restart I get the "getting devices ready" screen, than the color screen just like its the first time boot of the operating system. My system suffers no change, yet it starts quite slower and it is annoying. Note that I had a previous Windows installation of XP that I removed, even from the BCDedit file.

Thank you in advance for the help!

Sounds like hardware compatibility issue of windows 8.1 with your device. Or may be unsuccessful installation of windows (like you may have ejected your windows installation media before it's time to do so). Did you reached to the desktop after completing the windows 8.1 installation? If everything fails, scan your windows installation media in your friend's PC (in case you do not have a genuine windows disc). If it's fine then try a different ISO to make your installation media and try installing with that. You should post your system's present hardware configuration to see if it's cool to deal with windows 8.1.

Could be hard drive problems, check your hard drive for integrity, windows xp is not as demanding as win8.1 and it sounds like its installing the devices each time it starts up on to the hard drive.

seems me that you have messed up the BCD Store or the System Reserved Partition either

insert your W8.1 dvd, then repair your computer and do an automatic boot repair
