ESET fix most of programs by updating program modules if you plan to give up on updating modules you will not receive any fix or improvement for the program then anytime you have a problem you don't have the right to complain just personal opinion

Again activators will only update database not modules, and all activators is the same

Seems like somebody is mistaken. Fix is not making your AV unupdateable for modules. Fixes are OK to use.

I have NOD32 AV 8.0.304.0 installed and fixed by EPA with option In Advanced Setup -> Update -> Settings -> (*) Pre-release Update

My modules are latest and some even newer than posted in comment #26 and earlier. So awaken and use EPA or Mara fix as usual, don't get fooled around :coolwink:

Pre-release Update is for testing only, not recommend to use it until you have a problem

Try to use normal update with any activator and compare the update versions

I use it long time ago even previous versions, not a single problem ever. Some ppl even recommend it, you'll have latest modules before others ;)

Pre-release updates (the Pre-release update option) are updates that have gone through thorough internal testing and will be available to the general public soon. You can benefit from enabling pre-release updates by having access to the most recent detection methods and fixes. However, pre-release updates might not be stable enough at all times and SHOULD NOT be used on production servers and workstations where maximum availability and stability is required.

So I believe nsaners are advanced users, who can benefit as said. Don't scare us with "Fixes are bad" take my "Silent Installer", don't get mad, just my opinion ;)

Let me make some points clear

1- I never told anyone to use my work (Portable or Silent)

2- My silent is not activated

3- You can use any activator with my silent

4- From your replay "pre-release updates might not be stable enough at all times" and that what i said they are for testing only

5- You want the non advanced user to use pre-release channel that means i'm right and that is never be a solution

6- I will never tell the user to use something is not 100% working, if activators don't update modules users should know and they choose what they like

7- Using pre-release channel don't make anyone advanced user it's an option that can anyone check it

8- I don't tell anyone to do anything and i don't scare anybody, i only say a fact "Believe it or not" or "Take it or leave it"

9- If your advanced user by using pre-release you could also test the activators with normal update to see if i'm right or wrong

10- pre-release should have letter P after the database update version like this "Virus signature database: 11444P (20150408)"

I'm not mad i only give advice take it or leave it

  • 1 month later...

Hi all, I want to report that it works perfectly if Self-Defense mode is Off in Windows 10(Preview). Once S.D. mode is turned on, it becomes unable to save any settings, so the only way to change settings are to uninstall the whole thing and go through the install and update process again.

I hope someone can fix this for windows 10.

Thanks a lot! :)
