Windows Firewall Control 4.4.3.0

Microsoft Windows have already built-in default, free and powerful firewalls, but unfortunately, they lack a simple interface to define own simple rules and can be difficult sometimes to configure them the right way. Windows Firewall Control is a nifty little application which extends the functionality of the Windows Firewall and provides quick access to the most frequent options of Windows Firewall. It runs in the system tray and allows user to control the native firewall easily without having to waste time by navigating to the specific part of the firewall. Windows Firewall Control offers four filtering modes which can be switched with just a mouse click. WFC is free to use, registered users will get the advantage of learning mode which provides notifications for outgoing blocked connections.

What's new in version 4.4.3.0 (04.04.2015)

- New: Enhanced Mode for notification system, which was introduced in the previous
version, is now integrated in the existing old modes.
- New: Medium notification mode was updated to display notifications but without the
connections attempts of programs located in C:\Windows and its subfolders.
- New: High notification mode was updated to display notifications for all programs,
including system ones located in Windows folder and its subfolders.
- Update: The light gray color of read only rules was changed to dark grey to improve
the readability.

FFF`s keygen should not be up-to-date, don`t waste someone else`s time. The dev changed activation in 4.4.3.x.

The way it should work is to disaplay notifications only for programs which doesn't have a matching rule, if it has, even if it's disabled, it shouldn't pop up notification. That would remove the need to block displaying notifications for programs under Windows folder. Now it's half useless.

Just nitpicking, but - nothing seems to happen when the following hotlink is clicked (on a unregistered copy.)

However, they fixed the above issue.

Hmm...My registered copy of WFC today became unregistered.

Interesting to note is the fact that I don't have any rules pertaining to WFC, the program.

It's auto-update feature is also disabled but still it got unregistered.

Will be activating it again using Armour's post. :)

WFC is not a firewall - it is just a front-end, a GUI which helps the User to manage the native Windows Firewall.

It has an extremely light footprint and (apart from the convenience) also, includes some enhancements to the native Windows Firewall.

Personally, if it were not for WFC - I doubt I (and others) would even care to use the unintuitive native Windows Firewall.
