babel patcher also works .. i ve tested this on my laptop. But the only thing is , if you need to update it do not click finish button .. but rather patch it again. the drawback there is if you re patch it again, the mdata key is populated and changes... bleeding of clsid keys will still be noted. and erratic behavior ensues ... thats my own opinion... anyhow, its nice that november rain make it work... :)

so far so good for me. followed the tut on firewall method usng eset

You now have a permanently activated copy - you never ever need to crack subsequent releases of IDM updates/upgrades. B)

@dcs18 from post #79.. lol.... anyhow, if you dont modify the exe files... and follow dcs18 thread + maintain a clean IDM registry... i believe it will work. :)....

Moreover, it is wise to backup the following registry entry - it contains one's personal configurations which can also be carried forward to other systems (if required):--

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DownloadManager]

@dcs18:

Hi

1. I am using a proxy+Windows Firewall Control, is there any change on the rules?

2. I do not have IDM instaled in C:

Thanks

will the firewall method using eset work? i used this tut http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2626. how do i know it worked?

The negative side of the firewall method is that it is suitable for only advanced Users.

You will know it has worked by glancing at the man in the mirror - you will immediately notice a new bulge in his biceps and triceps . . . . . . . causing the arms to pop-up like Popeye, the Sailor man . . . . . . . . . . also noticeable, would be a new hairy chest with immensely expansive pectorals. :showoff:

Just kidding - you will cease to receive those irritating nags from IDM. :P

Hi Gugudoll,

Yes, if using a proxy - there is a corresponding change in rules (IP addresses) which affects all firewalls, equally.

I use the babel patch and block the program with windows firewall and its' ok :)

If you have firewalled it correctly, as illustrated in the tutorial, at my signature - you do not need to use a patch, too . . . . . . . . . . never ever!

If the patch was a fully working one - you do not need to use a firewall, too . . . . . . . . . . just ensure to patch a new IDM release, each time.

Would personally suggest using either one - patch or firewall (not both - however, that is your personal decision) 6HUIPBa.gif

Patch by Team REiS update 6 failed after a while...

New patch By REiS Team will appear, probably v.7, as already happened before ...

Cheers
