I've tried eagleget, fdm, igetter, flashget - and years ago some paid ones dap, getright - this is basically the list off of filehippo.com, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any good free download managers? Thanks.

The best free download manager is FDM - been trying it for quite a while on a fully pimped Linux box (yeah - believe it or not.)

While FDM may wow someone using a download manager for the very first time - it would fail to impress anyone who has lived the glory of IDM.

My experience with the best freeware (FDM) has been disappointing to say the least - left behind a bad taste in the mouth which is hard to describe.

As an alliterative example, it was the very same disappointing feeling I experienced after transiting briefly from the world class Adblock Plus to uBlock - a bad taste . . . . . . . just like when you are humping a prostitute with bad breath (you know what I mean.) :naughty:

There is project which will give you Windows 10 and which is not finalized. Many developers wait Windows 10 final release to make their changes. And they know that their programs does not work under this project, there is lots of programs does not work. So, where did you see Windows 10 OS?

Exited idm - then deleted the reg key visual protect 3.5+, restarted idm, and downloaded a file - fake serial pop-up did not occur; will try downloading more files and see if the fake serial appears. Can you protect the registry from new (specific) keys being written?

Hi there are really 50/50 reports its working or not.....hmmm

Just a share as i also have the Visual protect key in 3 of my PC, it seems that the visual protect key comes back after several time as addhaloka mentioned whenever your doing task and connected to the internet as the program silently checks it... seems its binded with the IDM key used. ...I might be wrong but so far this is my observation as i have VP key also and all have similar data value in my 3 PC as i have been using only 1 valid key for it. The only difference is the subkey which seems to be associated with the browser and network.

Furthermore, i noticed that this VP key is already present in previous build 6.21 b8 , i just successfully upgraded the other PC with no problems just now, it went through with no problems despite the presence of the VP key in one of my PC

Anyhow, i did not delete the VP key as my IDM is working so far... I am still observing it for some days....

no crack for build 10 at moment work, they implement new check / ban keys wich we need to wait...

ATM, the firewall method has reported working by 100% of the Users (as usual) - it prevents IDM from talking to the servers which ban the keys. :showoff:

But then, you might not be referring to the firewall method as a crack - in which case, we got no option but to blush with the glowing compliment. :blush:
