steven36
I never had no problems with it , Back then I didn't know any better and almost every one was using registry cleaners . But that has changed its all in the news and tech support sites not to use them at all so I dont . Every thing I hear at this site is based on there past experience with this app . (The app no longer has a registry cleaner) ..I guess the developers read the news . But when it did it was the only registry cleaner that was made from real beta testers . It would be tested for a year before they released it. You cant say that about any of the others on the market.

But when saying you had trouble with a prior venison of this is not telling no one much ... I used it on windows 7 and XP and never had problems with it . I had used it off and on since like 2007 and I used a lot of other registry cleaners that really did cause damage . This use to be the only registry cleaner I would run on windows 7 and my friend would ever use but windows 7 been around along time now ;)
212eta
I am happy that you did Not have any problems with jv16 PT on XP and Seven. However, other users have had quite a different experience...From Windows Vista and onwards, there is no practical reason for using a Registry Cleaner; just the placebo effect... Microsoft invented the registry cleaner and stoped making them after that . If Microsoft says dont use them I geuss its best not too. A registry cleaner is a class of third party software utility designed for the Microsoft Windows operating system, whose purpose is to remove redundant items from the Windows registry.Registry cleaners are not supported by Microsoft, but vendors of registry cleaners claim that they are useful to repair inconsistencies arising from manual changes to applications, especially COM-based programs. The effectiveness of registry cleaners is a controversial topic, with experts in disagreement over their benefits.[citation needed] The issue is further clouded by the fact that malware and scareware are often associated with utilities of this typehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Registry_cleanerBut back when I was younger I use to test and upload everything . I'm no longer interested in messing up my coumpter just to help others I only test the stuff I use .

steven36
I also have used Microsoft RegCleanI'm old enough, too... :)I'm old enough but in 98 I did not care about computers at all I was busy doing better things .I just know about it from reading about the 1st O/S I bought was Windows ME/ Windows Mistake Edition . soon i replaced it with XP  But Microsoft Had Their Own Registry Cleaner! This is true. Microsoft once provided a free registry cleaner named RegClean. It hasn’t been supported since Windows 98. In fact, Microsoft removed it from their website because it caused so many problems. If registry cleaning was so important, Microsoft would have rolled it into Windows, or at least updated their utility. Microsoft has been integrating useful system utilities into Windows for a long time: automatic defragmentation, firewall protection, anti-spyware, and even antivirus, with Windows 8. They’d integrate a registry cleaner if it was helpful.http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/registry-cleaner-difference/
