kowalski215
Hello everybody. I've been nosing around on this forum for a couple of days looking for sth that might fix my problem but I did find nothing. Well, to put it simply: CCleaner is getting pretty hard to use: it crashes, it doesn't recognise lots of softwares on startup or in context menu and so on. I tried reinstalling it, but the situation hasn't changed.I'd like to ask you what software do you recommend me to clean my computer...I'm not a maniac of cleaning, but I need these simple "tools": :showoff:- Junk files cleaning (temporary files and other rubbish).- Registry cleaning (but not like tuneup which deleted me useful things and I had to reinstall some software)- Startup manager (like in CCleaner)- Context menu editor/cleaner.Not interested in background cleaning, I'd like to spare as much RAM as I can LOLThanks in advance, bye :D(I hope I posted in the right section!) Kalju
Your CCleaneriga is not nothing wrong. There is more than obvious that your Windows is spoiled and helps only 100% clean and complete reinstallation. Maintain can only personal files, but not in the settings. If you just want to lose time, you can do it, ie waste Your time. Decide for yourself which is the wisest action to do.In addition, you still have a lot of mistakes that you have not discovered still. CCleaner is not the first, which announces a mistake, it is one of the latest.

clubhouse
If you've tried a re-install of ccleaner and it still doesn't work then there is something amiss on your system as others have pointed out.....Now even if other cleaners work I would be concerned about the ccleaner issue if I were you. ( or at least , try to see what is the culprit that CCleaner is not working for you - a virus maybe ?? )How do you know? I can assure my Windows works well, it does not have viruses, just CCleaner was a bit buggy. I never told you "CCleaner makes my Windows crash, I have BSOD". It merely does not recognise a bunch of softwares on startup.I was jsut looking for an alternative, not for formatting my pc because a software doesn't work. However, thanks software182 for the suggestion, I'll try it ;)
