AlexCross
what type of license is dreamspark Windows 8.1 key ? is it RETAIL or VLK?In my account it says:Extended Access Guarantee (24 months) - Included24 months of access to your download and/or key. This does not extend the duration of time-limited licenses (if applicable).Installation and Use Rights. You may install and use on your devices no more than twocopies of each of the software offerings made available to you.
glasnost
I'm fairly certain all DreamSpark OS (and software, with the exception of subscription cloud products like Office 365) licenses are Retail and not time limited. As AlexCross's post says, the 24 month Extended Access Guarantee is just for download access to the ISO and key (which could easily be burned to disk / backed up locally). spinalgr1998
it's a retail key!! I find the following article ;That’s it! Note that the installation key (in red) for your Windows 8.1 copy has already been issued. Now you are ready to download your ISO images.N.B.: Do not get misguided by the Extended Access Guarantee (24 months) note. It does not mean that your keys/licenses will expire after 24 months. DreamSpark licenses are equivalent to retail licenses. They do not expire. Extended Access means that you have guaranteed access to the keys and ISO images (and you can download them as many times as you want) for the period of 24 months. It does not, however, apply to the licenses which are meant to be temporary. In our case, it is the most likely scenario that the Windows 8.1 Professional Preview will be replaced with the Windows 8.1 Final Release when available, which makes perfect sense.
