Chancer
If you go onto Seagates's web site you can download seatools. That is their disk checking software.I have had 3 Seagate drives that have died recently. They RMA them OK but I'm not buying Seagate again. bonbonboi
I need to invstegate on this issue before I tell you my suggestions. 1st of all be sure you are using a working cable, 2nd connect your HDD on a good working USB port, then wait till the led stop blinking. That time Windows could repair any err and bring it back to life. Please use Windows 7 and later.

bonbonboi
CHKDSK might not fix it, so we need to rebuild the Partition Table.
