mikie
Doubtful you can change its nic. You can get faster wifi - its will cost you though. as the newer fast wifi isn't cost effective yet.
BALTAGY
I don't think it can be changed but you can search for USB Ethernet that support 10/100/1000And also if you connect your cable to a switch this switch must support 10/10/1000 or your card will work only on
Ragdd
You cannot change the LAN chip on you laptop. But you can buy a PCMCIA or cardbus addon card with gigabit lan if your laptop support this.Or a USB 3.0 to gigabit LAN adapter, you have probably USB 2.0 so maximum network speed with the USB LAN adapter will be +/- 30 MB/sec.100 Mbit lan is 12,5 MB/sec. Jime234
oho !I believe USB 3.0 to gigabit LAN adapter will be the only sane option....I have a usb 3.0 port , what speed will it provide on a CAT6 cable ?
mikie
Everything connected on a wired network must be gigabit. If even one thing on the network is 10/100 the whole network will downstep to 10/100.

Ragdd
If the other side (switch/router/...) is gigabit also gigabit.LAN speed is allways the speed of the slowest part in the LAN connection.oho !I believe USB 3.0 to gigabit LAN adapter will be the only sane option....I have a usb 3.0 port , what speed will it provide on a CAT6 cable ?
