iaTa
Over the last few weeks there have been complaints from notebook owners with Nvidia mobile GPUs that GPU overclocking features have been removed after updating their drivers to the latest v347 branch. Someone that appears to be a customer care representative going by the name of "ManuelG" in the GeForce forums stated last night that overclocking features were a "bug" and that NVIDIA has removed overclocking to safeguard systems from operating outside design limits. This is incredibly bad news for laptop owners with Nvidia based GPUs.Sources:http://news.softpedia.com/news/NVIDIA-Disables-Mobile-GPU-Overclocking-Without-Warning-472953.shtmlhttp://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu_displays/nvidia_disables_gtx_900m_overclocking_with_driver_update/1http://hardocp.com/news/2015/02/12/nvidia_drivers_remove_gpu_overclocking_from_laptops_maxwell_based_gpus63#.VNzOrC483K9http://tech4gamers.com/nvidia-accidentally-disabled-overclocking-maxwell-mobility-architecture-latest-drivers/http://www.techpowerup.com/209820/nvidia-disables-geforce-gtx-900m-mobile-gpu-overclocking-with-driver-update.htmlhttp://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/no-more-overclocking-on-nvidia-mobile-gpus.771169/Sign the petition here:https://www.change.org/p/nvidia-re-enable-overclocking-on-geforce-equipped-notebooks?recruiter=20925400

Christopher Gehlke
so i have a question. the newest drivers for notebooks disable said feature correct? why not just use a previous driver set until the "fix" is corrected?
Christopher Gehlke
does this also disable all OC programs that are out in the wild now?
iaTa
so i have a question. the newest drivers for notebooks disable said feature correct? why not just use a previous driver set until the "fix" is corrected?Well that's an option in the short term, but what happens if they don't re-enable overclocking. None of us performance laptop users will be able to take advantage of the latest driver enhancements. We need to get this ridiculous decision reversed.does this also disable all OC programs that are out in the wild now?Yep.
