Topic disappeared overnight (WTF?)

so have we come to a point that topics are being deleted just because staff don't like the kind of discussions??What's next?

I used to love nsane but now we can't even have open discussions about anything anymore without stupid admins deleting/editing replies or deleting topics alltogether.

remember this: members make a site, not staffers!!!

Most stuff regarding moderation should not be dealt with in the public, especially when the only reason to make a topic about it is to discuss or question mod or admin decisions or starting a fight about it and if it hasn't been started as one, it will most likely end with one, happened multiple times in the past.

A different thing was the debatting about banned hosts because that was something where a majority of users were interested in.

If a topic or post gets removed, everyone is free to write to anyone of the moderation team and (if he or she doesn't already know) ask why it happened. I don't think the whole forum has to discuss every mod or admin decision and to be honest, they don't need any approval for anything from us and demanding it this way is kinda bugged logic.

that's how I responded a few times in the past and never got a satisfying answer.

The topic I'm referring to in my first post was an off-topic chat about how members are dealing with things here (wasn't started by me) and evolved into a discussion about the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo. No faul language was used and it was a good discussion which wasn't finished.

I think it would be fair to give a reason for a thread being removed and by whom, it would give members a better understanding of what topics he or she dissaproves of and why....To simply remove a thread without expalnation is kinda rude and doesn't help create a better understanding of what can or can't be discussed.

I agree with n0_risk! .. We all do this for free .. Always in question when some one starts a post was there intention to start a fight or were they doing it for the greater good of the community? Really this board should stay off really touchy subjects like propaganda post . If we had no rules at all this forum would be a war zone . And we should accept the Admins decisions and move on when it comes to post that may cause a bad argument . you can always pm a mod and ask them in private why they closed a post.

I know why the post was closed . It was closed because the post was made out of anger of the mod shutting down another post that was the same argument . The mod explained why he closed the 1st post . They should not made another post about it , Im sure the mods have better things to do than keep having to close post . They should not have to explain but once about it.

You need to pm them and ask them , It was made clear in the post they dont approve of the subject matter . You can go over to CNN and read about all day long . I fell bad about what happen just like everyone else . But I'm not a religious person and I really think arguing about it on nsane offending other members just causes more harm than good . When I come on here and see all the hate it just makes me want to go else were.

Well you didn't see all of it that's why you should have pmed the staff 1st they can explain .were all on a board with different beliefs . I'd delete the propaganda but not the entire topic + I'd ban +ip ban the person posting propaganda

I think its OK to debate the topic as long as you dont debate the person . Just like me and you had debates and were still friends . If a person takes a debate personal and starts debating a person that's when it gets out of hand then more times than not it turns into a flame match . And it dont matter witch board you go to . I seen the Mods have to step in. ;)

Well feel free to post the world news if you want no one stopping you , what I mean by we are the contributors of the board . Some of us contribute by posting news some by posting software . I seen people cuss each other out in the world news topics and get banned . Me myself dont want no part of it . I feel no good will come out of it . If worse came to worse they could remove this section and at the rate everyone is going it could happen . And Im sure Nsane would get along just fine without it that's just opinion .

I also think as members we are allowed to ask questions and comment on on all forum activities don't you...I don't think the owner of this site has any desire to prevent any healthy discussion.....Stating the obvious is not adding to what is under discussion here...If people step out of line in any way then surely it should be the individual who is punished by a warning or banning and not an entire thread.

Always most topics like this get closed like this one anyways . And I agree with you but i dont make the rules and someone who tells another member to follow the rules is against the rules its called mini moderating . Thats why as a member of the site we should only suggest they follow the rules . :)

I don't ask anyone to follow the rules, that's their choice to make....We don't have to do ANYTHING in our lives we don't wish to...Of course there will be consequences if we don't but it still our choice...The only thing we all have to do is die, no choice in that, we all die one way or another....I just worry sometimes that threads are removed due to bias by an individual (not saying that's the case) if they are that is wrong and needs to be addressed.
