jalaffa Posted January 9, 2015 Share Posted January 9, 2015 WinRAR is a powerful archive manager providing complete support for RAR and ZIP archives and is able to unpack CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, ISO, 7Z, Z archives. Its RAR format may only take second place for its level of compression – but it is consistently the fastest when it comes to both packing and unpacking files. While RAR files are not native to Windows or Mac, many other compression programs are still capable of unpacking it. "Drag and drop context menu" options in "Settings/Integration/Context menu items" dialog allow to disable WinRAR archivingand extraction commands in context menu displayed after draggingand dropping files with right mouse button.2. If winrar.ini file is present in the same folder as WinRAR installer,winrar.ini will be copied to WinRAR program folder after completinginstallation.3. While previous versions could produce RAR5 volumes of slightlysmaller than requested size sometimes, such situation is lesslikely now. In most cases volume size equals to specified by user.4. Bugs fixed:a) WinRAR 5.20 issued unnecessary user account control (UAC) prompt,when running an executable from archive stored in UAC protectedfolder. Since nothing is extracted to folder containing an archivein such case, UAC prompt is not needed;b) WinRAR could overwrite files with read-only attribute onlywhen unpacking RAR and ZIP archive formats. Now it is alsoimplemented for other archive formats supported by WinRAR;c) "Elapsed time" and "Time left" were displayed incorrectlywhen applying "Convert" command to multiple archivesand enabling "Add recovery record" option.
