Leeching from a wireless connection i dont know

I just borrowed my friends laptop and i couldnt find my speed touch CD's so i was just playing about with wirelessnetworks and i found several. Thought i would connect to a few and it worked.

can i be caught?

Yes. I'd advise against it as well. Aside from stealing bandwidth from your neighbours, it's not the done thing.

Might be a good idea to tell them their connection is open.

ya, i agree with Samurai.... dont leech off other networks..... unless your neighbors are a$$holes.... in that case i'd leech away! lol

Stealing bandwith is really bad thing. Just be honest to your friend.

If you land in prison, you should do it again there :)

My neighborhood uses Network Connections and if I search a few times, I can find most of them un-firewalled and open to threats and I tried once but it isn't nice being told off the Police.

Amg, huge consequences :P I'll carry it on till i can find my Speedtouch CD's. Its pretty fast lol. Faster than my 2mb -.-

Just last week I found out that I have been leeching off a nehbours wireless connection. the only reason I noticed is because he came over and told us we were. Luckily he is a friend and he didnt care.
