windows 8.1 problem

Recommended Posts

I too have a problem in my lenovo miix 2.8 running on windows 8.1:

whatever the files i save in C or onedrive gets deleted as soon as i shutdown and restart.

Infact iam getting a msg saying ,'you have logged in temporary profile and hence the files will be deleted once you restart and to solve this try to signout and signin again and if the problem persists, contact your system administrator"

In fact i did create an account in microsoft just for this and yet the problem persists even after changing the logging in information.

Any suggestions how i can overcome this?

thanks n advance,

regs,

regs,

Try this:

Method 1

1 - Open regedit and find the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

2 - You may find many keys starting with "S-1-x-xx". Look each key for the value "ProfileImagePath". It contains the name of the user associated.

3 - After identify the user that is logging as "temporary profile", delete the entire key (S-1-x-xx) that contains it.

4 - Log off and log in to see if problem persists.

Method 2

1 - Make sure to log in with an account other than the one with "temporary profile trouble".

2 - Delete the user (associated to the temporary profile problem) folder located at: %SystemDrive%\Users\UserName

3 - Open regedit and find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

4 - Delete the key related to the sid backup if any: Usually "SID.bak" (S-1-x-xx.bak)

* If there´s no SID.bak (S-1-x-xx.bak) key, go for step 6 *

5 - Log off and and log in to see if problem persists.

6 - Repeat the steps 2,3 and 4 from method 1.

If You are big fan, then You know also, how to use it, but it is possible, that some new new (fresh) user may not know. That I meant. And that's why I asked. Now is clear, that this isn't the reason. But till now is very little information, to take some kind position, what the reason may be.

It would be nice to get a bit more info.

But very often the case is that a person asks for help, but did not even tell, what the system is used. How he discovered the mistake, what he did so before the discovery of the fault. Etc.

Completely agree. And sometimes they are unpredictable and specific, sometimes even unique.

Thanks for the guidance bro,but it doesn't work(method 1) and reg. method 2, i don't know how to go to %SystemDrive%\Users\UserName and hence didn't try,

finally'Refresh"-ed my tab(sort of format, i presume!) and now its gone.

Once again thanks to everybody who spared their precious time to solve My problem
