Administrator Matt Posted December 12, 2014 Administrator Share Posted December 12, 2014 Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world. And even though the calls are free, they are really excellent quality. If you and your friends, family or business contacts are using webcams, you can also make free video calls. You can even call landlines and mobile phones at really cheap per minute rates (and there's no setup or subscription fee). Thanks to Adriano for the update.Download

jvidal
MSI installer is corrupt if you use a download manager. If you don't, then, even if the file is called SkypeSetup_7.0.0.102.msi it installs the previous version.

Wilff
Does anyone know, how do you contact someone if she/he is on Lync, now that they are merged or something :)
jvidal
The last few versions of skype 6.2 had the same problem: Corrupt download if using a DM (FDM in my case). If I dloaded using the browser, then I got a non-corrupt file, but installed an older version, no matter what the file name was. This got fixed with 7.0.100, dloaded with DM and installed the correct version.Something tells me this are not officially released versions. I'll stick to 7.0.100 for now,
Purple Trail
Sounds more like a problem on your end. I never get a corrupted file and it's always the latest version. No problems with msi.
jvidal
i don't think so. the ONLY file that gets corrupt is the skype msi installer. I download hundreds of file every day, no problems with any of them, only skype.

PrEzi
Anyone has a banner/AD-free version of Skype ? I managed only to block the Ads via hostfile method, but the AD-frame is still there... This does only concern the people with 0-balance... Once I reactivated my credits the banners go away... Nevertheless - would be nice to remove them totally ;-)
