sir check your hard disk for errors, defrag it if it hasn't in a long time.

use the windows memory diagnostic to see if the problem is in memory.

No problem with shutdown.

My english is not good -> I can not report to microsoft.

  1. In Your first post You said - it happens often. Does it means, that sometimes You get this message and sometimes not?
  2. And one more question - do you have a situation if no key is not responding for long time, or has had a blue screen?

The Nude Dude

My computer often encounter this error.

Error.png

How to repair problems. Thanks

this is really an old issue. some apps and drives will do this. from what i can tell it's simply that the app and or diver isn't completely compatible with 8/8.1/8.1.1. i have a driver that causes that on logoff or restart, but everything works as it should. seems to be just an annoying erronious message.

upgrade to Windows 7 :D

It should be downgrade

There are a bunch of things that could cause it (e.g., deleting the wrong registry key, a rootkit, malware, etc.). I would recommed going into safe mode, runner a scan with MalwareBytes & Hitman Pro, and then running a computer cleaning software from Tweaking.com. When you go on Tweaking.com, click on the "Programs" text that is located on the top left corner of the site just under the logo. After that, you should see a list of different programs. Click on the first program called "Windows Repair (All in One)". Download the installer & run the program. The program should guide you through what to do :). Good luck!

+1.

Maybe you can try refresh your Windows 8.1 ( there's a feature called "Refresh your PC" in Windows 8.1  and it's not the right click option :p ) or the best solution is reinstall your Windows

  1. ..........You get this message and sometimes not?
  2. ...........

1...... ..........You get this message and sometimes not? Yes

If this is so, then it is not something more serious with reading memory. It is not a memory problem.

The problem may be that the app or some of apps is/are outdated, invalid or corrupted. Also may be corrupted or invalid some of registry entries or some of system files.

You should think about when and why it occurred. If it has been for a long time and you will not be able to find the cause of this, it is advisable to do a Windows refresh, and also get rid of this software, you do not use, but that is on your computer.

It is also recommended to destroy deleted files. (Wipe free space. It is enough to overwrite 1 time with random data or zeroes). You can use CCleaner, Glary Utilities, or some other free space wiper/cleaner.

NB! You do not hope that something more will not happen in future. This problem does not improve itself, but getting worse every day.

This code 0x000000008 not give any precise information, because of the code represents a wide range of Windows problems, for which there is no definite improvement method.

So, if You don't know reason by Yourself, is recommended to save your data, in safe place and and take to clean and repair whole system, before it is too late to save anything.

Hmm, it looks like memory bug. Run a memtest procedure to be sure.

There's is an app called 'autoruns' packed inside 'sysinternals suite'. Run it as admin and see the 'explorer' tab to find out anything unusual that's hooked up with your 'explorer.exe'.

Keep your windows up to date. In the 'autoruns' app you can also access all windows' startup entries. See if anything is not necessary to be there.

Then the virus part. Run a boot time scan with your AV product.

If all of the above fails to fix, run 'sfc /scannow' in the command prompt.

Other options are, system restore and the last one - a reformat.

Good luck!
