DVDFab is all-in-one DVD copying/converting/burning software. In just one or two steps, you can copy any DVD to DVDR/PSP/iPod/etc. DVDFab is brand new, is completely rewritten, is based on more than 6 years of DVD copy software development. It allows you to remove all DVD copy protections, like CSS, CPPM, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs, ARccOS, RipGuard, FluxDVD, CORE X2, etc. It is constantly updated to support latest DVD copy protections and has a very fast copying speed, normally it's about 10 - 20 minutes.

Thanks to anakin206 for the update.

Judging by the screenshot it is most likely the BRD patch.

So, this screenshot suggests that the BRD patch is working for this version?

Has anyone used the "ripper" in DVDFab? I tried ripping a Blu-Ray using this feature. I chose "High Quality" to get a 7.x GB MP4. I burned it onto a dual-layer dVD. But, when I tried to play this MP4 on my home theatre Blu-Ray player, it "freezed", continued, "freezed", etc. The same MP4 worked fine when I used a USB drive with the MP4 on it, plugged into the same player.

One of two thing causes freezes that are very common mistakes....cheap media and burn speed. More then likely if not verbatim media then not good results from my past experience.

if you open the program the second time that menu is not there anymore

and you can rip bluerays,I do it all the time

and besides who uses the dvd to bluray converter anyway?

Well, if you rip Blu-Rays "all the time", you must have some things to recommend?

EDIT: What I mean is do you use DVDFab's ripper and what settings/configurations have you found most useful?

1. I have been using a 50 pack of Verbatim "Life series" flavor of dual-layer DVDs. I have had at least one issue with a DVD I copied - not quite the same as burning an HD video. My memory is fuzzy, but may recall a warning about this specific Verbatim media - the "Life series" variety anyway.

2. I tried a few discs at the lowest write speed which seems to be 4x. I'm still having trouble as I mentioned before.

3. I am using ImgBurn and the settings seem correct. It complained unless UDF was one of the file systems selected. And, there was mention of easing restrictions having to do with file length names. I've never had trouble with ImgBurn before, but maybe this is more complicated?

I guess I could purchase Verbatim dual-layers disc, and, NOT the "Life series" variety.

what is the media code of your life series verb's. i stopped buying any verbatim discs myself because the quality is just not nearly as good as it used to be. my favorite discs are falcon media thh02 media code. they are not much more than the verbatim and sometimes even cheaper. i have never one time had a failed burn with the falcons and i have been through thousands over the years. otherwise ty yuden is top media tyg03 for 16x discs and tyg02 for 8x. and for a cheap disc that burn great the prodisc016 code is great.

if you need any other info on who makes them etc shoot me a pm. verbatim DOES NOT make their own discs now they are either cmc (imo junk), mcc (mid quality) or moser baer (total garbage), only buy taiwan made verb's if you do and then make sure they are the mcc media code and the life series "plus" or vx versions. and i burn my verb mcc at 2x in order not to get the burn rings from the increase in speed as they burn.

I don't see any "Falcon" in Micro Center's inventory. The question: Could just a specific media account for the errors I reported in my previous post? [After doing multiple burns]

ahhh you are using DL discs i thought you were using dvd-r discs. imo i would rather shrink a movie slightly with dvdfab and burn to a dvd-r and not have to worry about any bad burns DL discs can be very picky and sometimes a pain to burn. im not sure if the media codes of those specifically but if you put one in and open imgburn and select burn iso (you dont have to actually burn it) it will tell you the media code in the list on the right side. but dual layer discs can be very picky about not only the burner but also things like the layer breaks etc.. i highly recc these:

What InStalled burner do U use. I use Image Burn as Master. (Then Again I use DVD+RW - just to be safe)

The issue I've been having with the ripper is getting subtitles to display on my home theatre Blu-Ray with the HD video the ripper produces. The only option I have not tried yet is configuring the ripper to render the subtitles into the video stream because you can't "turn the subtitles off" with this.
