All these things say you can't do X, you can't do Y.

I laugh at the iOS versions of this stuff. There's stuff I've been able to do years before stock via JB tweaks, and I'd imagine full on rooting custom ROMs offers more power than Cydia (it was actually impossible to selectively delete the call log on iOS 3 (iPhone OS stock, there was no 'iOS' or iPad in 2009), but not for me because of mods). If I went Android I've never have stock on my device, especially not OEM+Carrier raped deviations from stock.

And who are you to speak about other peoples needs? Also why does it have to be about a "need", Poeple can simply "want" and buy, unless you're poor or dont have a good enough job.

Also you can simply update you CURRENT phone to new Android, you're not forced to get a new phone just to get the new OS version. YOu can update via your device OTA or by installing a custom rom.

..oh and YES some people do need mobile phones.

Actually IMHO, from what I have studied, Lollipop is superior to KitKat and I shall most certainly be amongst the first few to make the leap - have been harassing a couple of Developers for the first Custom ROM release of the V5.
