Hi, I got a new laptop which has windows 8.1 pro installed. The problem is I cannot go to recovery environment. I have tried Alt+F10 many times. This is a Haier 7g-5H laptop having uefi bios and gpt file system. I have recovery partition but they are 5.24 GB. Should I make a complete C drive backup with Acronis or Paragon. also where can I find custom windows 8.1 iso. I need X19-04626.

Maybe you should try without using the alt key. From what I have read about your lappy you might need to hit f8 then choose recovery.

1- Create a new partition D if you haven't it

2- Control panel > File History > You will notice left-down of the page "system image backup", enter it and you'll be able to create a recovery backup saved on the partition you already created

Why so difficult ???

Just start up with your Acronis-Resque CD and select the image ( date/time), you want to restore !!

Thats all you need !! Using this for years now ( starting in XP),NEVER FAILED !!!

Dont forget to make a new back-up with the same CD, on a regular base !!
