Alanon
Regardless of that, if you just want to edit a subtitle file, there's a great freeware called Subtitle Workshop.

Perhaps you should try DualSub yourself to see whether it could get the job done.To download DualSub, go to the homepage here:http://dualsub.sourceforge.net/To merge subtitles comprising of different languages into one SRT file, you can go the following website:http://pas-bien.net/2srt2ass/This website allows you to merge subtitle files, no matter what language are the subtitles encoded in. The result of this merge will be a new subtitle file which will display subtitles from each merged simultaneously file each time a phrase is spoken.I've another suggestion, why don't you post the SRT file in question and let members who have the knowledge to help you with it? I believe that will be an easier option for you to see whether it could be done or not.Regards.
FreeRyde
You could try Subtitle Edit... or use any text editor; such as Notepad, NFOPad, etc. There is also a pretty good online subtitle converter.
