I always prefer reviews before trying something out so I google for them. I found a few but they only make me suspicious of the software since not one of them had anything negative to say about the software, only general comments like 'I wish it was free' or 'there is no video of how to install it'. I believe I would stick with DiskCryptor which is free, is supported, and has been designed as a free software that is comparable to SecurStar DiskCrypt Plus Pack.

Additionally I found that they have been giving this away for years on every giveaway site that exists, again suspicious that they have to give it away to get the word out and for several years. Seems like this is more useful for encrypting a file or files and creating a virtual container than doing whole drive encryption since there is no mention of boot authentication anywhere and that has to be a major requirement of any drive encryption.

If I had the money, I would buy SecurStar Drivecrypt Plus Pack for my laptops since it has many bells and whistles and is well known as a very secure software. I especially like the safeguards, such as wrong password 3 times wipes the drive, coerced password boots to a plain vanilla system the user sets up, etc.
