geeteam
Hi Guys :),I turned on my PC one day and all what I see is a complete whitescreen, I restarted it (using the power button) several times, but the problem still persists.I quickly connect it to my Grundig TV (through an HDMI cable) and voila there the screen showing up again, PC was able to boot into windows normally without any issue. I switched back to my normal display and it okay. Since then any time I want switch on my PC, I have to connect it to my TV and then after Windows has successfully boot up, I will switch back to my normal display. On occasions where I don't or am nowhere near my TV (or any external display), I have to wait until i hear the Windows boot up sound then i will try connecting to a display by entering (Windows+P) move three steps to the right and hit enter. A message (no projector connected) comes with up the screen showing. Issues I discovered was since then are listed below; When i increase the brightness from eco mode to High performance whitescreen will show up.When i open websites with higher images, i will see the whitescreen. When i open youtube without playing any video, i will see the whitescreen.Troubleshooting i didI completey unistalled any previously installed drivers but it didnt work.I also unistalled my display driver and yet still the problem is still there.I also updated my display driver to the latest version and still the problem is around.I went to the extend of reinstalling Windows and yet still the problem will still be there.PC InfoName: TOSHIBAModel: Satellite L675DProcessor: AMD Athlon II P340 Dual-Core Processor 2.20 GHzMemory: 4GBSystem Type: x64Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200OS: Windows 7 UtimateQuestionsAnyone experience this issue before? How did you fix it?Is it a sign of my PC telling me to get a newer one after 5 years*?My SuggestionsI think it has something to do with the hardware; maybe i change the screen or what.something i also think the screen lights are dump (can i change that?)Any other suggestions are welcomed? :)
locoJoe
I had a problem similar to this quite sometime ago. I do alot of mucking around on my and others PCs for fun and profit so I have alot of "stuff" rolling around in my head and cant quite remember what the culprit was. I do remember that it had something to do with the OS trying to display on an external device before/or without even looking for the proper/normal/builtin display. I also remember that it was a very big PITA and that it was something, for lack of a better term, what I would call "stupid computer"! I will do some  :king: about it and if I can recall anything more I will be back to reply on this thread. g/lEDIT: I however did not have the symptoms below that you are having:When i increase the brightness from eco mode to High performance whitescreen will show up.When i open websites with higher images, i will see the whitescreen. When i open youtube without playing any video, i will see the whitescreen.Sorry I couldnt be of better help. g/l

Meaning the screen goes off (is like the screen backlight is off). You cant really see anything.

7even
Sounds like hardware problem, oftentimes caused by broken LCD connector cable.

el_espaniol
Mmmhhh...it happens me few times... :ermm:- Is hard to say at distance... but appears to be a compatibility issue or flaky hardware...- Conect again to your TV and try a RAM test with a boot stick or cd...;...UBCD it would be nice....before touch anything..- Take a look on BIOS setup for on-board temps....Use default settings...- Remove RAM stick...clean it and make sure that is proper placed...- Remove ATI drivers and try another version....- Try a clean OS install bare minimum and try again....Hope You´ll find the issue. Regards...!
