No matter what, Full HD videos from Chrome are not MP4 anymore. They are MKV, smaller in size, using VP9 codec and lower quality. This happens for months already and I have to use Firefox.

Or you can use Chrome instead of FF...? There is no reason to use FF.

You are wrong here mate. I don't talk about codecs, but some implementation of IDM that made Chrome only showing MKV container which includes VP9 codec and MediaInfo showed IDMmkvlib 0.1 (which really means they did something how Chrome handles YouTube videos). This was not occuring with Firefox. Firefox was using the normal MP4 container with H.264 codec. Do you understand now?

Not in downloading video there's a difference in the codec the MKV that YouTube were giving on chrome were WEBM MKV HTML5 . The right codec is Advanced video codec only it comes in mp4 and flv Flash when downloading . There are several workarounds that you can make chrome use flash only for YouTube . But there not needed tell chrome breaks it again for idm .

Thank god they fixed it now. Every changelog said "chrome video detection improved" but nothing was done. Now it works normally.

Initially, I wish to find IDM patcher without typing FirstName and Lastname in Box (Just Patch EXE byte)

patcher, i saw your link is the one that i'm looking for, Sadly it's for trial version

(Installer idman621build11.exe), now I try to patch for Retail version (installer idman621build11f.exe).

Tested on windows xP, 7, 8, 8.x i386 and x64 just fine.

Hi koko baidu, 1 is the lowest 32 the highest see also the steps below:

Go to Download -> option -> Connection Select your Internet connection tap -> Default Max Conn Number

High speed ethernet or medium Speed Wifi, (choose the suitable for you related to your ISP Speed)

Highest 32, Lowest 1 then click OK (when the pop-ups appear)

Now go to General Tap Unthick the option as your necessity see images, exit IDM

now launch your IDM watch your download Speed.

If you don't have time to setting, here i have make my own IDM setting, then you should change the string /IIH/

to your Windows username.

after you change the string. you can rename the extension to *.reg then just

double clicked on it / merge, you're Done.

The number of max. connection numbers feature depends on the speed and total number of simultaneous threads supported by the particular host (server) and also your very own download (transfer) speed. Each host has its own unique capability, as regards download support.

At my available internet connection speed of 50 Mbps, I am safely able to download videos from YouTube at a (total) optimum transfer speed of 7 Mbps, with my max. connection numbers configured to the highest @ 32 on my IDM - however, this may not work optimally for others with a substantially lower speed (does not work so well for me on certain other servers that simply refuse to extend support to multiple download threads.)

Moral:--

The number of max. connection numbers feature is something that you gotta work out for, yourself as per your own available resources and choice of download servers (host) - in this particular matter, there is no one glove (configuration) that will be an optimum fit for all.

32 Channel option it's design Mainly for the higher speed users, however you can try it..therefore check your real ISP speed

if you have IDM Download Speed roughly 300 to 375 KiB/s or More, you was have Resonable download Speed.
