jalaffa
GOM Player is a free multimedia player with popular video and audio codecs built-in. GOM Player supports file formats such as AVI, DAT, MPEG, DivX, XviD, WMV, ASF. Users don't have to install codecs separately. GOM Player is capable of playing incomplete or damaged AVI files by skipping the damaged frames. It can also play locked or partially downloaded files. Its other features include drag-and-drop support, HTTP streaming, editable skins, subtitling, overlay mixer, key remapping, enhanced filter rendering, real-time index rebuilding for AVI files and unicode support among others. Thanks to Engh3. for the update.Download

AtumBatum
Just block it with firewall and you won't have any problems. GOM Player + KLite Mega Codec Pack and everything works great.
smallhagrid
It was quite good in the past - but not so anymore IMO:Avoid this at all costs, it's riddled with all kinds of adware, spyware, junkware, etc.Use potplayer instead. For me the worst of it is that it refuses to stream from YT URLs.Codecs ??:...GOM Player + KLite Mega Codec Pack and everything works great.GOM uses only internal codecs from what its site says - so what good is it to add more if it cannot use them ??My rating of any media player depends mostly on whether it opens fast, plays most anything without any fuss - AND:It must also play streams from YT URLs with or without the help of SVPTube. From what I've seen so far the one working best for my use is MPC HC - not even VLC has been as good as MPC HC for me.If there is a better media player existing right now it would be great to hear about it - but GOM Player ain't so good IMO. AtumBatum
I couldn't play some formats with internal codecs. After I installed K-Lite it worked.
jvidal
pot player has played everything i've thrown at it so far, without the need to install any additional codecs. Plus, it comes with no malware.
