How to compress/reduce a pdf file?

I have Acrobat X1 pro installed on my Laptop. Just need to know the steps needed to maximum compression with minimal loss in data.

I have seen some 6 to 8 mb files reduced to 1 or 2 mb. I have to submit some documents online of a client but the file size is 6 mb and the maximum files allowed to upload is 2.5 mb. Please explain the steps.

In Acrobat, go to File, Save As Other, Reduced Size PDF. If your PDF documents have a lot of images, size-reduction will be proportional to loss in data; you can't have a lot of size-reduction without loss in data.

(Open the .pdf document using Acrobat) >> Tools >> Protection >> (use either of the following methods depending on the extent of compression desired):--

  • Remove Hidden Information
  • Sanitize Document

You can try these steps for reducing the file size(Lossless PDF) in Adobe Acrobat Pro -
