axarad
It's true that Internet Download Manager (A.K.A IDM) is the fastest download manager but It's also the slowest in version build changes since I've always known IDM as 6.XX -_-So how much do you guys think it'll take to see IDM 7.0 released? (05-10 years?) :D
SnakeMasteR
Not sure what you exactly want, they still could go with 1.xx.xx if they wanted. Why does it need 7 as version number, do you think it will be more superior compared to a 1.xx.xx version? Version numbers are cosmetics, to keep track of them internally, nothing else.Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_versioning

Nima
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)IDM 6 is working perfectly well and satisfies all of its users; it has all the features that a download manager must have.In fact, it does not need major update and only regular maintenance and minor update and this is what their developers do. ;)

(05-10 years?) :DNo need to jump to version 7 so soon especially for those who purchased IDM :PIs IDM purchase a one-time payment? For how long is IDM license valid?IDM purchase is one-time payment. There are no any additional annual fees. The license will be valid for your lifetime. For 15 years while we sell IDM, we never charged for updates. But we plan to do this in the future. In any case it will consider only updates from one major version to another, for example from version 6 to 7. All security updates in one major version will always be free. And license still will be lifetime. dcs18
IMO, IDM is quite frequently updated despite being the de facto Emperor of download managers. The version number means little - if they had employed the Chrome implementation of versioning, IDM would be very close to V25, by now.One of the best upgrade features for me, was when they introduced an increase in their maximum simultaneous number of connections from 16 to 32 (IDM 6.18 Build 8, on the 27th of November 2013) - works fantastic for Users who possess a fast internet connection.
