BobJoe2010
Have you tried Ultrasurf?Yes.i tried.Ultrasurf didn't work.In fact, for the torrents, some cloud storage sites like furknet gave me a solution with limitations.but for IDM i tried to use manual proxy settings.it was in vain & connection could not be established. :(

mike.mt
@ BobJoe2010 ..........Your going to have fun with this one buddy... :)Their network management team have set up appliances for filtering / security / proxy & bandwidth management to block P2P + unauthorised VPN traffic, many downloads, along site + content blocking. Further more for persistent offenders that try to bypass these measures they can block your MAC addres from connecting either wired or wireless.Without wishing to sound a killjoy, as CTO for a group of companies I also implement similar measures on our networks for security & internet bandwidth optimisation @ all of our sites. The last thing we need is dodgy . unnecessary traffic going in & out of them for obvious reasons.I am not saying that what you are try to accomplish is impossible, but depending on your college's security policy & set up you may find this a very hard nut to crack mate. ;) ;) ;)
