Have you tried Ultrasurf?

Yes.i tried.Ultrasurf didn't work.In fact, for the torrents, some cloud storage sites like furknet gave me a solution with limitations.but for IDM i tried to use manual proxy settings.it was in vain & connection could not be established. :(

Main Network Server??? Do you mean the internet gateway that you connect through from a work, college, Uni etc. network?? or does this occur in a home enviroment & the server your referring to is the ISP?

reinstalling windows 8.1? i didn't get it.its OS is windows 7.this is not a personal home computer.it a client (hope its the correct term) computer in a work network.download retrictions have being imposed by main server to prevent unnecessary downloads.

@ BobJoe2010 ..........Your going to have fun with this one buddy... :)

Their network management team have set up appliances for filtering / security / proxy & bandwidth management to block P2P + unauthorised VPN traffic, many downloads, along site + content blocking. Further more for persistent offenders that try to bypass these measures they can block your MAC addres from connecting either wired or wireless.

Without wishing to sound a killjoy, as CTO for a group of companies I also implement similar measures on our networks for security & internet bandwidth optimisation @ all of our sites. The last thing we need is dodgy . unnecessary traffic going in & out of them for obvious reasons.

I am not saying that what you are try to accomplish is impossible, but depending on your college's security policy & set up you may find this a very hard nut to crack mate. ;) ;) ;)

True.its very hard nut to crack.but i suppose the counter measures to bypass these restrcitons laid by network mangemnet are within the realms of reality.if any one know few tricks to creep through those P2P block,VPN traffic block etc please do share.thank you

I am a SysAdmin, myself - counter measures can be implemented only if you know what are the measures that have been deployed to counter you . . . . . . . . do you? 6HUIPBa.gif

Frankly,Answer is No.but i hope SysAdmins depoy more or less similar strategies to block unauthorized vpn traffic,P2P torrent traffic, access to online proxy sites etc.

Ultrasurf,Tor ,poweful VPN software, changing MAC etc couldn't counteract those restrictions. :(

The reason for asking is quite simple - suspicious behavior by a Client is liable for a more stricter deployment.

Lemme explain, my default deployment plan to Clients is; to roll out an Allow All strategy and only then start restricting on a trial-n-error basis - however, whenever I spot extracurricular activities from a particular machine, I start auditing that particular Employee on a piecemeal basis and then clamp down a default Block All policy on only his machine/s, with subsequent allow permissions on a trial-n-error basis.

Moral:--

Do not start experimenting with your Corporate Network unless and until you are fully conversant (and capable) to bypass your SysAdmin - without leaving any traces (better find out what and against whom you are dealing with.)

If your Organization, has a SysAdmin like me - your happiness is screwed (I insulate my Stakeholders with a multi-layered protection - a client can ever never be sure he has crossed all hurdles.)
