It does not show any of the boot menu options like F2,F10 etc. I have looked at many tutorials and even checked the hard disk on a desktop pc. Hard disk is fine but I want a window installed on it but usb or dvd drive does not work. stylemessiah Posted August 6, 2014 Share Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) Heres my top tip: Never, and i mean NEVER, buy AcerAsk me why if you want to be bored with examples like 18 pallets of Acer PC's factory fresh that were delivered to us once recently and all were stickered "Quality Tested" but strangely dead....Then theres the Acer monitors that like to spontaneously die and/or also combust...Ill stop now before i get a roll on...If the laptop is still under warranty, id make them fix it, of course its always more likely to come back worse than when it went in, but then, thats AcerIf its a recent machine with UEFI and secure boot you may have lots of fun trying to install Windows on the harddrive plugged into another PC and then connecting it back to the laptop...not to mention all the registry bloat from the other PC's hardware and orphaned drivers etcI wouldnt want to use a mess like that personally.Like i said, i'd make Acer fix it, i have far better things to do in my lifep.s. i should point out that i regularly do large scale PC rollouts, universities etc, and they tend to order Acer because theyre cheap, especially at volume level...of course you get what you pay for, and in the case of Acer, sometimes less than you pay for.
