dcs18
@ darko999Thanks for the heads up - was hoping to test drive Panda (only if it possessed an option to disable the cloud detection.)
sirri
Its based Cloud. mean with NET always ON.@darko999, I am sure you mean Offline Protection. Without NET ON, it will use few signature last time you connect NET. That's why protection will decrease.@dcs18, one and only to disable Cloud ...is turn NET OFF. :D

STEEL
I use Pande Free Ver. for a long time. Works perfect for me. Good 2nd Malware Scanner and remover, even in free ver, without Active Firewall. :)
Boops
I think the best antivirus is one who is able to balance the virus detected with false positives. Those who give many false positives give a sense of insecurity, and they do not give any cause the same feeling. There are all kinds of compare companies that offer results in controlled labs but anyone convinced therefore surprise us to each other, when the overnight antivirus place a "class + +" to "advance + + +". The world of comparative antivirus I see very uncertain.

sirri
I dislike employing anything that makes a cloud connect and have been known to actively engage myself in preemptive measures of prevention that override all other configuration/s at the program GUI:--AV-C has some deep report about Data Transmission in Internet Security products if you worrying about that. Here you go http://www.av-comparatives.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/avc_datasending_2014_en.pdfManagement summary Many Internet users are concerned about who has access to their personal information and what is done with it. After revelations by Edward Snowden regarding the extent of eavesdropping by the US- American NSA, users have become increasingly aware of privacy issues. Computer security software has legitimate grounds for sending its makers some information about the system it’s running on; in particular, details of malware found on the machine have to be sent to the manufacturer in order to protect the user effectively. however, this does not mean that a program should have carte blanche to send any and all personal information found on a computer to the manufacturer (other than with the specific knowledge and agreement of the system’s owner). This report gives some insight into data- sending by popular security programs. Clearly, antivirus manufacturers have to comply with the laws of the countries in which they are established. In the event of e.g. a court order requiring the vendor to provide information about a customer, the company has no choice but to do this. However, this should be the only reason for providing user data to a third party. Some companies do not state that they will only pass on customer information in such circumstances. This report was initially requested and commissioned by PCgo and PC Magazin Germany.

Boops
Personally, I do not give credence to AV-Comparatives. I am inclined test by AV-TEST. It is true that in recent years, security suites, and these equate to high levels, but should start being more strict, and expand the features by which they judge.
