After blocking those IP addresses, one's copy of Windows Manager becomes exactly like genuine - the license cannot be blacklisted online since it can no longer be cross-verified by Yamicsoft, through the usual server check/s.

That having been said, a new release can (during installation) blacklist one's key if it is not valid - without having to make the server check/s. ;)

Or :-

Add to host file the following line, after having registered with the patch / keygen by Core team ( frontpaged ) but with NetOff. --»

0.0.0.0 yamicsoft.com

When done you can open program with Net On ; no problem. You will not loose registration.

Was using the hosts entry, myself - before I found the advantages of using the firewall, instead.

i find just blocking the main .exe is enough to avoid serial blacklisting. the LiveUpdate.exe just checks for newer files and overwrites the old ones, so no need to keep downloading every new installer

Right, personally I prefer the off-line redistributable which is then used to update many other client systems (on which an internet connection is unavailable.)

Therefore, I prefer to also block the LiveUpdate - especially, as it has a mind of its own and does fall under the User's control (another advantage of using the a firewall against the hosts method - finer granularity, Users like you and me are left with the choice to allow or block components of their choice.) ;)

I use to use this software back when I was on Windows 7 to disable uac and and do some other tweaks .. I found old versions pretty much done the same thing that I used it for .. The reason they came up with the idea to start checking your key via live update was because to many were updating it though live update with pirated keys. On windows 8 you cant disable UAC or you cant run stuff like a VM. If you disable UAC in windows 8 or higher it messes up stuff you can only fix by going back to and old image or reformatting . If I cant use it with out messing stuff up what good is it? So I stooped using Yamicsoft .
