Bizarre™

Are you talking about automating ipconfig (/flushdns, /release, /renew) ?

@Bizarre

That command don't give you a new external IP, only a new internal IP in 192.168.x.x range

You onyl get a new external IP by shutting down and booting up your router (not here, i have dynamic IP but always receive the same) ---> Scripts won't push the On/Off button xDDDDD

Some routers accept telnet sessions, but i don't think it could be possible in one script.

You could load your routers config in a browser and force it to reset, too slow way of doing that.

"You could load your routers config in a browser and force it to reset"

That would take you a minute or so, but you avoid wating 15min if your ISP wants yo give you another IP.

Can you reset your router via web(using the browser)? if so you can have it automated by web automation tools such as WebReplay(didn't try it) but similar products should work.

did u try going to the router IP via the browser and check if there is an option to restart the router, in my D-Link there's a button called "Save and Restart" which does the job.

That button/option should be present in most routers...

But i don't think it's easy to automate the resetting action.

You can also turn off and on your router, and that way you'll make exercise xDDDDDD
