I updated the dll to v1.1 and fixed the popups hopefully all, in case you already updated the dll from v1.0 to v1.1 and still have this popups that's unfortunate.

I was using a previous version with a patched IDMan.exe. I shutdown the program and upgraded to the lastest retail, then placed the netshell.dll in the program folder and restarted. I had no issues, but very quickly received the notification. I haven't tried installing completely clean like I did with ver 1.0 because it was a lot of work and nobody else reported it working.

After a clean installation with a newly generated serial, I haven't received any popups with v1.2. I tried to check for updates from the panel, but it took a long time, then finally said it couldn't connect. Nothing bad happened to the program. I also scanned the dll with defender and it didn't detect anything so I didn't have to make an exception for the file. I downloaded a file to test, no issues.

I entered the serial via a .reg, but does this actually require one?

thanks, good to hear it works for you.

it blocks all internetdownloadmanager.com requests except updates but i need to improve the filtering as i see it didn't manage for you to check updates.

and no it does not require one at all.

updated the filtering on v1.3

It's just not working for me. I did a reformat and installed clean. It absolutely req'd a name / serial for the retail version, which was fine. Upon reboot, I immediately received the invalid serial popup. Not working at all, perhaps you are running a firewall?

If you don't get the same name and the same serial as here it means the dll is probably not loaded or not working

No, I never saw that on my version. I will try again with v1.3.

Internet Download Manager 6.xx TOOLBOX 2019 v2.1 failed to remove my existing registration.

Download and install this might fix the dll loading because its seems my dll didn't even load so it will do nothing.

And

https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

After installing finished, test and report back result.

I installed both versions on my Windows 10 x64 and the dll is now loading and IDM seems to be working fine. 😮
