Don't know why the first few posts of a newbie aren't moderated, before it appears on nsane.forums.

The % of spam bots to regular members on registration is incredibly low. We usually deal with spam fairly quickly. We have a significant number of pre-registration filters in place to stop activities like this.

Moderating posts of new members is bad for two reasons:

* New members don't feel welcome/ not want to post as they think we are "watching" them.

* It takes a significant amount of time to moderate these posts, especially in a timely manner.

Another issue, that might need an immediate attention, is some member "quoting full posts" in their reply. This makes a thread so much longer that one has to uncessarily scroll down a bit longer to find new replies. That even, bury some important replies underneath. If quoting full post is necessary, at least people can use SPOILER Tag to wrap longer quotes. That will keep the threads clean and will also serve the purpose.

Please see the two screenshots below, the first one is the regular that we see on the forum, while the second is with SPOILER tag with "most" recent reply on screen:

Normal reply with full quote on-screen:

Reply using quote wrapped in SPOILER tag with most recent quote displayed on screen:

PS: It's only a personal view.

IMHO the most annoying thing is the use and (allowing the Use) of the danasoft.com sigi's

plus the one that says your location as well, mind you that one is SO wrong its stupid says I at Newport south Wales when in fact I am south of London (not saying exactly where) but Newport is 150 miles due west of me.

Hi, as said, it's only a personal view. I have not done anything intentionally. I had captured the screen that was on my screen at that moment. Take a look at another screen under, "the entire page was quoted and the new reply only has 23 words."

I think we should add captcha for new members below 50 posts, this baba spammer is really annoying.

bypassing captcha won't be a problem for baba :pope:

It is easy for the staff to implement a filter rule that audits any number on the topic subject line which contains +91
