it keep's saying maybe my username or passwaord is wrong every time i try to config it....

i'm sure i'm putting the right username and password.....

any ideias? any reset or cleanup tool i can use?

thanks

Earlybird version 31a2

EDIT: my Linux (Ubuntu) Netbook is running Thunderbird Beta and it's syncing fine...

could it be because my windows version, due to being a alpha is something wrong?!

Check if you have IMAP enabled on your gmail account. Its under "Settings/Forwarding and POP/IMAP" and select Enable IMAP.

In thunderbird check if your settings are correct, it should be the following (taken directly from google support)

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
  • imap.gmail.com
  • Port: 993
  • Requires SSL:Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS
  • smtp.gmail.com
  • Port: 465 or 587
  • Requires SSL: Yes
  • Requires authentication: Yes

Otherwise use the stable version

  • How did you install and remove Earlybird? Was it manually or through from apt-get.

What kind of error message do you get?

In your root directory is there ~/.thunderbird directory? If so try removing it.
