Disable Windows 7 Security Warning & Unblock .exe Files

Whenever, I download an EXE file, I get this warning--even though Windows 7 Manager says that the feature is disabled:

Open-File-Security-Warning-1.png

And when I click on the file to see the properties, it says that the file is blocked:

Unblock.png

This doesn't seem like it's a big deal, but I've noticed that when I don't unblock Firefox's setup .exe, features are missing from the program. One of the biggest features that I notice missing is the ability to be detected by Windows 7 in the default program window. This means that Firefox is unable to be detected as the default browser and so I get the pop-up in Firefox warning me that it is not the default browser when it should be. I've searched on Google but have yet to find a way to unblock files by default. My concern is that my other programs might be missing features too.

Does anyone know how to turn off these features?

You don`t have nothing to worry about , it`s normal behaviour when you download files from internet (this is on Win.8.1)

Well maybe not with some, but there is definitely a problem with the FF setup because when I unblocked the file, the program installed fine and actually seems to be faster.

Have you tried to set up your user account as an administrator account. Just a quick solution.

Have you tried to tomporarly disable User Access Control (UAC)?

Go to: Control Panel>>>Action Center>>>Change User Account Control settings: And choose "never notify"

I recommand you to turn it on back after

I think I am setup on an admin account and UAC is disabled.

The second link says that if I unblock the file type once, Windows will remember my settings but I still have to unblock exe files. :S

Thanks for the links! Will give them a try this weekend! :D
