Fallon
I like Kaspersky, but run it only on one system. Eset -dare I say it- is still on the 'to do' list.Besides these two, for me, Avast is still the winner.Avast guys have been cutting back on the main mistake which will drive their users away: self promoting pop ups.Avast free edition makes a nice combo with free Privatefirewall. It is reasonable reliable and -with deepscreen disabled- doesn't alert for every fart, like some anti-malware does, notably StopZilla.Having said that, I do think it's necessary to run Anti Malware sometimes, for sure when a problem occurs. The usual suspects will do: 'Malwarebytes Anti-Malware', EnigmaSystems SpyHunter, and -with caution- 'AdwCleaner'. Paft
Avira free version is enough.I was using Webroot but after a format I couldn't bothered activating it, I thought I'd give Avira a try. And before that I was using MSE. The only time I need a AV is for scanning potentially suspicious files. My brain is a good enough AV. I don't require some big security suite. What's with the Avast fans? It's irritating and the detection rate is low-ish.If you're using a free AV just use Avira edit: or Bitdefender:_hxxp://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php Edited May 27, 2014 by Paft

iih1
nowadays we can't rely just on the AV test report eg Softpedia..we should try it and ask help to several forum related with this purposes.no virus guards can do everything, besides AV we need Antimalware. nor spywarebeware..some of apps eg Spark Browser it's will auto update without permissionno notice message as other browser else .."Update availlable update now or later"this my experience and knowledge ..please don't mind, if annoying you simply leave it. :D Edited June 3, 2014 by iih1
